The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is lobbying Congress to support funding for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Public-Private Partnership (P3) Pilot Program. The P3 program was authorized in 2014 as part of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA). The goal of the P3 program is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the model as an alternative way of financing projects. The program would benefit 15 projects that are selected by USACE.
Although the P3 program has been authorized under WRRDA, funding has not been appropriated. Therefore, USACE needs funding in order to move the P3 program forward. ACEC President/CEO, Dave Raymond, recently contacted members of the U.S. House of Representatives to urge them to sign on to a bipartisan letter being circulated by Reps. Rodney Davis (R-Illinois) and Cheri Bustos (D-Illinois) to the House Appropriations Committee requesting the necessary funding. Click here to view Raymond’s letter.
